Top 5 Bayern Munich transfer targets this summer

Alexis Sanchez

The mercurial Chilean is enjoying one of his beast seasons despite Arsenal’s lacklustre performance. He hasn’t renewed his contract which runs out on 2018, and this has clearly interested the Bavarians.

The 28-year old is a hard-working and talented forward who can operate on the right wing and can play as a false 9 as well. With Ribery closing in on his career, Carlo Ancelotti will look to pool in the Chilean for pace, creativity, and magical moments.

Arsenal has failed to qualify Champions League the next season, which will surely have an effect on Sanchez’s decision. Sanchez is a crowd favourite everywhere and Ancelotti admires the man because of his work rate and tireless attitude. However, they will have to topple Manchester City as Pep Guardiola is looking for a reunion.

The talented Brazilian has pushed down the pecking order since Conte’s introduction. The Italian Coach rates him highly, but a player of his stature should get regular game time. This has prompted Bayern to make their move.

Willian is an exciting prospect who is a traditional winger blessed with pace, skills, and excellent technique. Much like Sanchez, he can fit perfectly into Bayern’s style of play. Robben has been at his usual best this season, but Carlo will look to acquire another talented winger while news of fellow Brazilian Douglas Costa ready to ship out of Bayern have resurfaced.

Given that the deal materializes, it will cost Bayern around 50million pounds making him one of the costliest buys ever. Chelsea will be attaching a hefty price tag on their prized asset, but Bayern will be determined enough to swoop him in.

Serge Gnabry

Robert Lewandowski has had another outstanding individual season, but there is no doubt that he faces little competition for the starting eleven spot. German forward Gnabry has been on Bayern’s radar since last year’s Olympics, and is a powerful and lethal forward with decent aerial ability.

Serge Gnabry currently plies his trade for Werder Bremen, and had a decent first season. He is only 21, and will be an understudy to Lewandowski. However, his former club Arsenal will look to make it work this time and Inter Milan has also showed repeated interest in the German forward.

Gnabry due to his sheer pace can maraud down the wings as well, giving Ancelotti that extra man up field.  A deal from the German giants and the chance to play in the Champions League might be enough to lure him in.

Piotr Zielinski

The 23-year old Polish midfielder has shown great durability in his first season with Napoli. A central midfielder who is adept in creating attacks can also stabilize the midfield with his positional sense.

The departure of Xabi Alonso will open up a void, and Zielinski might be the correct choice given his ball distribution and box-to-box playing style. Piotr is still in his early days, but can break into the starting eleven as Kimmich might be slotted into right back role and Renato Sanchez hasn’t earned his manager’s faith yet.

This could be a brilliant buy given Piotr does justice to his transfer. He is full of energy and creativity and can pair up with Thiago further up the pitch leaving Vidal as the deep-lying midfielder.

Julian Brandt

The lively 21-year old German winger is a delightful prospect and has shone this season while playing for Bayer Leverkusen. A tall and pacey winger who can also play in-field, Brandt is blessed with the evergreen German technique.

At 21, he is already a regular starter for Leverkusen, and is rated highly by German national coach Joachim Loew. Brandt will face tough competition if his move to Bayern materializes as he will be challenged by Kingsley Coman, another bright star. However, Brandt is capable to drift in-field time to time making him a tough player to defend against.

Despite his young age, Brandt features in almost all of Bayer’s game, thus he will demand proper game time under Carlo Ancelotti. A talent for the ages, he has proven that he is no benchwarmer.
