Chadwik vs. Mulheron and Rogers vs. Lee added to bouts for Bellator Birmingham

Bellator recently announced more bouts that would part of its maiden journey to Birmingham. Scheduled to take place on 4th May, this will be the second part of Bellator’s European Series, after its debut in Newcastle earlier in 2019. The Ultimate Fighter finalist Saul Rogers has been booked to take on Aiden Lee , former contender of the Cage Warriors featherweight title. While the bout marks the promotional debut for both fighters, this will be Rogers’ first competition in more than a year. In addition to this, former UFC competitor James Mulheron will seek chance to return to the win column by taking on Lee Chadwick, former Cage Warriors champion. The promotion also disclosed that after winning his debut Bellator against Abner Lloveras, U.K legend Jimmy Wallhead will look to get a second victory under the banner when he takes on Italian fighter Giorgio Pietrini. Bellator Birmingham will also see Ashley Reece face promotional newcomer Craig Turner, who has till now remained undefeated in his professional career. The event is to be headlined by U.K campaigner Tim Wilde coming face to face with Brent Primus, former Bellator lightweight champion.

Dillon Danis to return in bout against Max Himphrey

Following a year full of drama, MMA fighter Dillon Danis is set to make a comeback to the sport. The former jiu-jitsu standout will face Max Humphrey in his second pro competition with a catchweight title of 175 pounds at stake at the Bellator 221. The news was first broken by Danis himself on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show and was later confirmed by officials on Monday. The bout is scheduled to take place on 11th May at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont. Danis’ debut saw him defeat Kyle Walker with a first-round submission in April last year at the Bellator 198. However, his chances of further participation in 2018 were wiped out after he was involved in the UFC 229 post-brawl between Conor McGregor and KhabibNurmagomedov along with their camps. Danis, who was McGregor’s cornerman, was attacked by Nurmagomedov after the lightweight champion defeated McGreogor.  With allegations of unruly behaviour and passing obscene comments, Danis faced a seven-month suspension as well as a $7,500 fine. His ban is to expire on 6th May.
