Donald Cerrone gives up on McGregor

Donald Cerrone was pretty pumped to face McGregor inside the cage. The light weight had been chasing after The Notorious One for four months. Cerrone called out McGregor in various interviews and even challenged him to a fight in the octagon. He even delivered a series of tweets going after McGregor and expressed his intention to fight the former champion. But in an interview recently, Donald Cerrone declared he was giving up on the Irish man.

Donald Cerrone will now face Al Iaquinta which was agreed beforehand. Iaquinta has been pretty impressive especially in his fights against Nurmagomedov and Kevin Lee. McGregor announced a dodgy retirement from UFC but expect him to make an appearance sooner or later.

RaoniBarcelos gets a new opponent after Said Nurmagomedov drops out

RaoniBarcelos will now a face a new opponent at UFC 237 on the 11th May. The decision was taken after Said Nurmagomedov stepped back owing to undisclosed reasons. Now, Barcelos will fight the Peruvian Carlos Huachin, a bantam weight champion. Carlos Huachin had his last fight two months ago, where he defeated Marcelino Cavalcante, to capture the Inka FC bantam weight belt. Huachin has been in tremendous form being undefeated in the past seven bouts out of which he secured six wins and one draw.

The Brazilian RaoniBarcelos (13-1) made his UFC debut last year in July winning via knockout. He even pocketed extra reward for putting up the best match of the night against Kurt Holobaugh. UFC 237 is scheduled to take place on the 11th of May at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janerio.

Brock Lesnar retires from MMA

Well, this came as a surprise. Brock Lesnar, who recently took off from WWE to get back to the UFC, has now told Dana White that he is done. Lesnar was supposed to face Daniel Cormier sometime this year. But UFC president Dana White confirmed he had a talk with The Beast, who reportedly said he is retiring from MMA.

This comes in amid much speculation regarding the Lesnar and Cormier fight. Lesnar even had a showdown with Cormier at the UFC 226 event. The former champion was suspened by the USADA but he had even participated in the anti doping program and begun training in order for the fight against Daniel Cormier. The Beast Incarnate last fought in the UFC back in 2016, a victory over Mark Hunt. But that win was soon declared invalid as Lesnar was found using the banned substance, Clomiphene.

White is now looking to book Cormier with Stipe Miocic. This title bout will be scheduled somewhere around August, at a pay per view.
